College of San Mateo is a public college follows a semester-based academic calendar. The College of San Mateo is situated on the San Mateo hills, which offer a panoramic view of San Francisco Bay, in the northern section of Silicon Valley. Since its founding, CSM has served as a bridge to higher education, facilitating university transfer, career development, and professional and personal growth. Each fall and spring semester, the college currently enrolls about 10,000 day, evening, and weekend students. Students at CSM have a variety of educational objectives and represent the diversity of the Bay Area. The curriculum provides a wide range of programs, including traditional, semester-length, and short courses in addition to remote learning, in order to best serve our students. This college offers more than 130 courses which consist of associate degree and advanced certificate. CSM provides a wide range of academic support services including financial aid and scholarships, counseling, transfer services, tutoring, employment assistance, and many more to ensure student success.
