Mercy University (Mercy or Mercy NY) is a private institute with its main campus in Dobbs Ferry, New York and additional locations in Manhattan and the Bronx. It was established in 1950 by the sisters of Mercy.

Mercy University offers over 100 degrees and certificates across undergraduate and graduate levels within the schools of: business, education, health and natural sciences, liberal arts and social and behavioral studies. It also offers online learning in more than 40 degree programs. Its first doctoral programme was introduced in 2006, in physical therapy. It has important infrastructures including a museum, Cybersecurity Education Center, Centers of Excellence within the Business School including Strategic Consulting Institute, Center for Entrepreneurship,Center for Global Engagement, and Women's Leadership Institute. Students have an option of living on campus. It includes facilities on Dobbs Ferry Campus or brand new Dorm34 at Mercy Manhattan. Most floors are single gender but there are co-ed living options too. There are over 50 student cubs including Mercy’s award-winning student paper, The Impact and 15 honor societies. Mercy University student life includes late night & weekend programs, commuter activities, diversity programming, traditions and the various orientation programs. It has over 68,498 alumni among which Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg stands out as he took a graduate computer programming course at Mercy. Meanwhile, fellow alumni include Jamaican all-rounder sportswoman, Simone Forbes, baseball star, Stan Jefferson, and Oscar-nominated actress, Gabourey Sidibe.
