The University of Newcastle also informally known as Newcastle University was established in 1965. It is located in Callaghan, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. It has been ranked among the top 200 universities in the world by QS World University Rankings.
The University of Newcastle is dedicated to promoting diversity and widening participation in the focus areas including inclusive leadership, gender equity, indigenous advancement, cultural diversity and belonging, accessibility and inclusion and LGBTIQ+ inclusion. It is awarded with maximum rating, a 5 star for social equity (The Good Universities Guide 2022).
