Wichita State University (WSU) is a public research university established in 1895. It is located in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It has been ranked 299th – 391st in National Universities by US News 2022. It has also been ranked 147th in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs by US News 2022.

A 330-acred Wichita State University is a blend of cutting-edge facilities and ivy-covered brick in a park-like setting. The classrooms and student housing are close to restaurants, coffeehouses, sports facilities and cultural attractions. Above all, WSU’s proximity to business and industry partners puts the students right next door to applied learning opportunities like internships, mentorships and co-ops. The university has three libraries among which Ablah Library is the central one. These libraries hold over a million printed volumes, 70,000 journal subscriptions, and over 130 electronic database resources for research, learning, and teaching. The Students have the option of on and off campus accommodation. There are three on-campus housing options- Shocker Hall, The Suites and The Flats. Shocker Hall is the largest residence hall that accommodates over 800 students which is open to first-year students only. The Suites is also only open to first-year students.WSU students and athletic teams are called the Shockers because Wichita students used to earn money by harvesting or "shocking" wheat. The Rhatigan Student Centre existing in the heart of the campus is the social hub of student life with a place to study, to hang out with friends, to eat, to shop, to relax or even a place to get a quick haircut. WSU is the most diverse university in Kansas with over 1500 international students representing 110 nations. Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) is the largest university-based aviation research and development institution in the United States comprising over 600,000 square feet of laboratory space. Various activities including research, development, testing, certification and training services in the field of Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Coatings, Aerodynamics, Aging Aircraft, Ballistic and Impact Dynamics takes place in the NIAR.
