KUMAT for MBA in Nepal: A Gateway to Excellence

Overview:

KUMAT, the Kathmandu University MBA Admission Test, stands as a pinnacle for aspiring business minds. This rigorous examination evaluates candidates based on Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Writing skills. KUMAT Test Format:

The KUMAT test unfolds across a duration of 115 minutes, comprising distinct sections that gauge diverse skill sets:

• Quantitative Section (45 minutes): In this segment, candidates grapple with 25 questions, encompassing 15 problem-solving and 10 data-sufficiency problems.

• Reading Comprehension (30 minutes): The ability to decipher complex texts is examined through 15 questions.

• Sentence Correction & Critical Reasoning (40 minutes): This final segment comprises 20 questions, assessing language proficiency and critical thinking skills

CMAT: Academic Gateway in Nepal

Overview:

CMAT, the Central Management Admission Test, is an annual entrance exam by Tribhuvan University, shaping academic paths in Nepal. Held around September/October, CMAT is obligatory for admissions to degrees like BBA, BTTM, BBM, BHM, BIM, BMS, and BPA exclusively at Tribhuvan University. It’s a cornerstone for aspiring business professionals.

CMAT Test Format:

CMAT has four sections:

• Verbal Ability: Tests language skills – vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, prepositions, idioms, phrases, passages, and questions.

• Quantitative Ability: Evaluates mathematical aptitude – probability, ratios, proportions, statistics, commission, taxation, vat, matrix, determinants, etc.

• Logical Reasoning: Examines thinking ability – types of relation, odd one-out arguments, flow chart, pure logic, common sense logic, guest logic, etc.

• General Awareness: Assesses general knowledge – current affairs, business & economy, sports, politics, management theories, science, literature, and interesting facts.

The 90-minute exam has 100 objective questions; each section holds 25 marks. Qualification requires 40%, and there's no negative marking. Beyond the written exam, interviews and presentations contribute to the final merit list (60% CMAT, 30% plus two marks, 10% interview).
